Job Overview:

As a Freight Handler, you will be responsible for safely transporting freight across dock areas to/from trailers for loading while maintaining accurate freight records. Flexibility in shifts is expected for this role.

Job Details:

You will perform freight handling using various motorized and manual equipment, ensuring that documentation matches freight descriptions and following all safety protocols and loading procedures diligently.

Responsibilities:

• Handle freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Verify freight documentation for accuracy.
• Plan and organize loading sequences and secure freight.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Maintain safety policies and procedures to eliminate risk.
• Assist customers with freight and documentation.
• Perform general facility housekeeping and mentor new hires.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Prior experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operation.
• Forklift certificate within probationary period.
• Ability to lift/carry varying weights and perform physical tasks.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new systems.
• Bilingual (English/French) preferred; Quebec, required.
