Job Overview: We are seeking a Purchasing Manager for a raw materials producer just north of Montgomery in Alabama. The ideal candidate will oversee the entire purchasing process, work with suppliers, and schedule materials to meet customer demands. We are looking for a critical thinker with strong negotiation skills. Salary will be based on experience.

Job Details: The Purchasing Manager will manage all procurement operations for the assigned site, coordinate purchasing opportunities, and identify cost reduction opportunities. This is a permanent position with work hours from 8am to 4pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all procurement operations for the assigned site.
  • Coordinate, direct, and monitor purchasing opportunities.
  • Support ERP system testing quarterly.
  • Develop programs and procedures for bids and purchase orders.
  • Monitor and analyze supplier quality, delivery, and service performance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience as a purchasing manager in a manufacturing environment
  • ERP or MRP experience
  • Continuous improvement
