Job Overview:

We are looking for an Aircraft Technician for a 9-month contract-to-hire position in Santa Maria, California. As part of our Aircraft Hangar team, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing avionic and electrical systems on research aircraft used for cutting-edge projects.

Job Details:

You will work with a small, highly skilled team of mechanics to retrofit Department of Defense aircraft for research purposes, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational procedures. This role also involves occasional travel to support aircraft mission requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair avionic and electrical systems on research aircraft.
• Retrofit DoD aircraft for research purposes, including modifying systems.
• Work on systems related to data gathering, instrumentation, and avionics.
• Support aircraft mission requirements with occasional travel.
• Collaborate with a close-knit team to meet project objectives.

Requirements:

• FCC License is a plus
• Associate's degree or Military Technical Schooling
• Experience with aircraft instrumentation and data gathering systems
